Instructions for use of Viscoelastic Tape

Viscoelastic tape Pipe is Anti Corrosion Wrapping Tape For Pipeline

Usually Polyethylene anticorrosion tape, PVC Anti-corrosion Tape, and polypropylene bitument tape are used as external protective tapes

1.Pipe Preparation

1) Keep the pipe external surface clean and dry.

2) Remove the dust, oil, welding slag, burrs, grease and dirt on pipe surface. Pipe surface prepared up-to a level of Sa 2 or 2 ½ or St 2/st by sandblasting.

2. viscoelastic tape installation

1) For viscoelastics used in pipeline repair and flanges, valves, pumps and other special-shaped parts, first divide the anti-corrosion paste into appropriate sizes

and fill them in irregular components such as pits and included angles.

2) According to the shape and specification of the anti-corrosion part, select the viscoelastic tape of the appropriate width for construction. Open the tape roll, peel

off the anti-corrosion film, stick the viscoelastic tape on the surface to be

anti-corrosion, and press the tape on the part to be anti-corrosion by hand while sticking.

According to the construction conditions and engineering requirements, the outer protective tape can be selected from polyethylene, polypropylene anti-corrosion adhesive tape, PVC self-adhesive tape, heat-shrinkable pressure-sensitive tape, fiber composite outer protective tape, mastic tape and other types for outer

protection. Its installation operation is carried out according to the corresponding operation manual. The outer protective tape should be installed to completely

cover the entirety of the viscoelastic tape.
